Baltimore, MD (February 4, 2020) – The Mullan Contracting Company has won a “Modal Award” from the Maryland Quality Initiative (MdQI) for activities associated with the construction of the Queen Anne’s County Circuit Courthouse building in Centreville, Maryland. The 41,600 square foot Circuit Courthouse was designed by Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners.
MdQI provides the Maryland transportation industry a forum that fosters coordinated and continuous quality improvement in order to ensure safe, efficient, environmentally-sensitive and sustainable systems to meet the needs of transportation stakeholders. MdQI presents annual Awards of Excellence awards as well as “Modal Awards” as selected by the MDOT Transportation Business Unit; Baltimore City Department of Transportation and County Engineers Association of Maryland (CEAM).
The Mullan Contracting was honored for a project valued more than $5 million as chosen by the County Engineers Association of Maryland in the MDOT/Municipal Award category.
The former Queen Anne’s Courthouse was completed in 1796 and was considered the oldest operating courthouse in the State of Maryland. The new two-story project was constructed with a front exterior façade that resembles the previous building, and a glass oculus window with the outline of an eagle.
